These are the best single unit 850nm LEDs out there to use for FTIR setups since they are super high intensity at 200mW per LED. The beam angle is 60 degree so you will fill up your plane of acrylic easily and you can create larger surfaces than with lesser power LEDs like those 5mm commonly bought from ebay/china.
