This 2.97mm is the perfect replacement to the stock GoPro®

lens if you desire as wide a field of view (FOV) as possible without the fisheye curved barrel distortion. Since it is only a 5MP (megapixel) lens, capturing media in a higher resolution (4K video, 7MP, 11MP, & 12MP photos) will be less sharp as compared to the stock lens. Please see the Example Media tab for examples of videos and 12MP photos taken with this lens. The design of this lens can cause the lens to produce more lens flare than the stock lens, so using a lens hood or circular polarizer filter will greatly reduce it. If you are looking for a sharper lens please see our other lenses with MP rating higher than 5MP.

When you change the lens on the GoPro® HERO® cameras we recommend having us remove the stock lens profile software so the colors are natural (and not tinted pink around the edges). All example media shown has this lens profile removed from the camera.

Description

Visible Light RGB Filter (Recommended)

This is the filter that most cameras have to capture RGB visible color light like our eyes see. All infrared (IR) light is blocked so the colors are normal. This is the same filter that most stock/original cameras have.

No Filter

This lens option does not have a filter installed, which means you will capture all the wavelengths of light from about 400-1000nm. This means that you are capturing RGB + NIR. It will look similar to a RGB image but overly pink and colors will be dulled/muted.
